Position Summary
The Telecom Analyst supports the company's telecom vendor management, billing review, and regulatory compliance activities. Working under the direction of senior team members, this role helps review and process invoices across more than a dozen telecom providers, tracks and reports any billing discrepancies such as charges for disconnected circuits, assists with weekly termination reviews, and files or follows up on billing disputes. The analyst also processes specialized industry invoices and maintains organized records of new vendor orders and contracts submitted by internal teams. In the regulatory and tax compliance area, this position provides administrative and data support to leadership and external tax vendors.
Responsibilities include helping gather information for federal and state filings, submitting required data such as FCC Form 477, monitoring regulatory updates, assisting with verification of vendor tax and surcharge accuracy, and supporting leadership during annual processes like 1099 preparation, tax escrow reviews, and audit requests. The analyst is also responsible for keeping internal systems updated with current circuit details, terms, and disconnect information. They collaborate with vendor support teams to troubleshoot billing issues and help identify system improvements based on database insights.
In addition, this role provides general operational assistance to leadership as needed. This is a detail-oriented support position ideal for someone who is organized, thorough, and able to manage recurring processes in a structured environment. The individual needs to be highly motivated, dependable, and have a desire to "take ownership" of their duties to help the Company grow and succeed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic with an ambition to advance, the ability to learn and adapt, and a willingness to perform non-routine duties when needed. Two to five years of experience in Telecom / Business Analyst or a related area is desired.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Handle, review, and process all invoices from 14 telecom vendors, including multiple accounts per vendor.
- Track down instances where disconnected customer circuits are still being billed by vendors and follow up internally to ensure disconnects are properly submitted.
- Meet weekly to review termination questions.
- File and track billing disputes with telecom vendors.
- Process special bills (USAC, Interstate TRS fund, etc.).
- File all new vendor orders or contracts signed by sales, marketing, and operations.
- Main contact for vendor processing taxes, FCC filings, and state/local regulatory forms, tax escrow, and annual FUSF/state tax forms.
- Direct contact with FCC and tax agencies when required.
- Monitor Telecom Tax Regulation site on regular interval and update leadership.
- Ensure FUSF forms are filed yearly and verify telecom bills for overcharges.
- Provide 477 data to tax vendors twice yearly for FCC filings.
- Work with leadership in January to provide specific prior-year W-9 forms to tax accountants.
- Process and audit monthly tax escrow payment requests from vendors; notify leadership and send monthly files.
- Handle special tax audit information or circuit cost comparison requests from leadership.
- Keep database updated with new circuit terms, dates, and terminations.
- Collaborate with vendor staff to debug issues and request changes or fixes.
- Use database suggestions to improve product functionality for internal and external users.
- Handle special requests from leadership as needed.
- Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, and overseeing purchasing of materials or services.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively.
- Participate in development opportunities including training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least two years of prior telecom and/or business analyst experience in a service-provider environment.
- Pleasant and confident demeanor when dealing with colleagues and clients.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Efficient and well organized.
- Proficiency with reporting tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
- Ability to reliably work an assigned schedule on-site at the Company's corporate office each day.
