We are seeking to hire an Energy Marshal to support a large-scale mission critical / data center project in Aiken, South Carolina.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all system energization activities to ensure safe startup, testing, and commissioning.
- Serve as the main authority for energy-related operations, including enforcing safety protocols and stopping work if risks arise.
- Plan, review, and approve procedures (SOPs, MOPs, permits) for energization and energy control.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure all work is aligned and compliant.
- Monitor and enforce safety practices (e.g., LOTO, system isolation, sequencing) to prevent incidents.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, incident reviews, and team training.
Authority:
- You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
- Carry out your duties to meet Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience leading energization or energy control programs on large hyperscale, mission critical and / or data center construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, system startup, and energy safety practices.
- Proven expertise in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and risk mitigation.
- Experience developing and implementing safe work procedures (SOPs, MOPs).
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-team coordination skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and improve safety outcomes (commissioning experience preferred).
