The purpose of the position is to perform all administrative functions that include Personnel and Human Resources, Analysis and Problem Solving, Contracting/Procurement, Budget Administration and other related administrative matters in support of the department.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. - FOR THE GS-09 POSITION: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties of an Administrative Officer, including: 1) Compiling information and preparing administrative reports for briefings; 2) Maintaining and updating databases and shared computer drives; 3) Providing advice and assistance to managers and staff concerning personnel processes and procedures; and 4) Coordinating with management to control purchasing and use of supplies. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
- FOR THE GS-11 POSITION: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties of an Administrative Officer, including: 1) Coordinating and monitoring the functions of administrative services within an office; 2) Managing budget activities; 3) Assisting with contracting functions and managing procurement; 4) Assisting with human resources functions to include recruitment, position classification, performance, training, etc.; 5) Preparing letters, reports and presentations; retaining procurement records and reconciliations; making space utilization recommendations. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
