Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
- Prepare patients for X-rays and other diagnostic tests, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by entering patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and more.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge.
- Experience with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) techniques.
- Strong understanding of urgent care practices and hospital medicine protocols.
- Knowledge of intake processes and vital sign assessment techniques.
- Ability to handle medication administration safely and effectively.
- Experience in both inpatient settings (such as Level I & II trauma centers) and outpatient clinics.
- Previous exposure to medical-surgical units or pediatric intensive care units (PICU) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
