Job Description: Payment Services Manager
Position Status: Full-Time Exempt
Reports to: VP of Digital and Project Management
Target Hiring Pay Range: $63,780 - $79,726

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.” The payment services Manager is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and administration for all operations of the payment services department and the safe and secure fulfillment of member transactions through the electronic transactional services offered and supported by Atlanta Postal Credit Union (APCU).

- Provide oversight of the daily operations and fulfillment of member services for the payment services area.
- Assist the staff during peak times with daily task responsibilities.
- In collaboration with, as required by the VP, Manage staffing and budget considerations for the department.
- Manages time and attendance for department staff; Actively participates in the interviewing, hiring, planning, and assigning of work for all payment services employees.
- Participates in the training of new eService employees and as needed, provides documentation or other information deemed useful in the creation of training materials.
- Ensure that employees are aware of department objectives, performance criteria and expectations, and the method and frequency of measurement and follow up.
- Continuously look for opportunities to implement system enhancements, improve operational efficiencies, or simplify processes and procedures, reduce costs, take advantage of automation, establish policy limits, and improve response time to members
- Develop, review, and recommend overall objectives, policies and procedures for all credit union internet and mobile banking products and services, and electronic funds transfer (i.e., ACH) products and services.
- In collaboration with the VP, work with the marketing department, information services, and other internal stakeholders in the development and deployment of new payment services products or to enhance existing payment services products.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of payment services rules and industry best practices, compliance, laws, and regulations; Complies with federal, state, and local financial requirements, laws, and regulations governing electronic payment services.
- Compile data and statistics for monthly management reports.
- Monitor daily exceptions reports, decision queues, and follow up activities to ensure all work is completed timely with little or no impact on members.
- Ensure the willingness and capabilities of the department to assist members with the use of all products and services supported by the payment services department including, but not limited to, internet banking, mobile banking, internal and external account transfers, Zelle, online bill pay, mobile deposits, online financial and budget planning tools, merchant funded rewards, alerts, notifications, etc.
- Consistently communicate a positive and clear message around the credit union’s strategic goals, objectives, and delivery of quality services to members.
- Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the employees of the payment services department. Typically supervises 6 – 12 direct reports.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, banking, economics, computer science, or related field; Four years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Three or more years of progressive work experience in payment services and/or other electronic financial transactions
- Prior experience in supervisory or leadership within a financial services organization
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and project management skills
- Ability to interpret and analyze a variety of reports and financial or economic concepts
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing (Microsoft Office) software
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or Experience:
- Three or more years of progressive leadership experience in electronic payment services
- Four years of work experience in a leadership role within a Credit Union
- Working knowledge of Symitar software, Zelle, Online banking platforms, Candescent, and web-based financial services product offerings,
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 5 to 20 pounds.
