The Skilled Assembler is responsible for assembling, finishing, and preparing custom commercial kitchen equipment to meet ACF's quality standards and customer specifications. This position requires a versatile individual with experience in mechanical assembly, laminate and millwork installation, light welding, and basic electrical work. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble custom commercial kitchen equipment according to engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Install laminate surfaces, millwork components, and architectural finishes with precision and attention to detail.
- Perform light welding and metal fitting as required for final assembly.
- Install and connect basic electrical components such as switches, lighting, and other low-voltage equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and fit of all assembled components.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Identify and resolve assembly issues while maintaining product quality.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following all OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Assist with final product testing, packaging, and preparation for shipment when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment assembly, millwork, cabinetmaking, commercial fabrication, or a related field.
- Experience installing laminate and architectural millwork.
- Basic welding experience (TIG preferred).
- Light carpentry experience.
- Basic electrical wiring and component installation experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use measuring devices accurately.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
