Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About The Role
This individual is responsible for the operational warehouse functions including but not limited to Cross-docking, shipping, receiving, order picking and order fulfillment, while maintaining warehouse cleanliness and appearance, food safety and personnel safety. The Manager I, Operations directs and engages employees and supervisors to achieve productivity goals and to execute on the Food Bank’s mission. This individual spends most of his/her time coaching and leading the Cross-docking team to efficiently and safely achieve production and quality goals.

What You’ll Do
Supports Team:
- Assigns performance goals, initiatives and work tasks to direct reports
- Coaches and develops team members to successfully perform in roles
- Oversees employee relations and leads staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action and terminations, as necessary
- Conducts regular department meetings to foster employee engagement, communicate any changes to company policies and procedures, address employee concerns, and foster idea sharing
- Oversees the acquisition and receipt of all inbound product.
- Manages the daily workload and safety of Warehouse Supervisors and associates on the Cross-docking team.
- Reviews and set priorities to ensure orders are correct and complete.
- Directs, coordinates and monitors the daily activities & performance of the Cross-docking team to assure compliance of standard Company policies, procedures, quality and safety.

What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience in managing warehouse operations, which can include, inventory control, order fulfillment, receiving, shipping, storage and order picking.
- Proven leadership skills in supervising and developing warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure team productivity and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, including transportation, distribution, procurement, and vendor management.
- Knowledgeable in inventory management practices, such as stock rotation, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and managing inventory levels to support operational needs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and compliance requirements related to workplace safety, equipment operation, and hazardous materials handling.
- Able to provide examples in identifying operational inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, and optimizing workflows to enhance productivity and efficiency in the warehouse.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, resolve challenges, and make data-driven decisions to improve warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

- Must be comfortable working in warehouse environment with varying temperatures and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
