Gainesville Glows is looking for energetic, friendly, and go-getter team members to join us as Special Events Associates for this upcoming season. As an event associate, you will engage with guests, staff and management in a professional way, upholding Garden standards and creating a positive, guest-focused experience during each event. This position is also perfect for students, locals, hospitality and service workers looking to make extra money.
This position is a part-time temporary role that will start early November and may continue through January 11th.
What You’ll Do:
Bartender
- Complete TIPS Certification within one week of hire; the Garden will cover the cost if not already certified
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized bar area while monitoring supplies and restocking as needed
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including: Bar set-up bar and bar break-down
- Verify customer age when ordering alcoholic beverages
Beverage Prep & Serve
- Produce beverage station (Hot cocoa, Apple Cider, drink prep, etc.) by assembling ingredients according to specifications
- Keep workstation tidy and organized while monitoring inventory to ensure supplies remain well stocked
S’mores Sales
- Sell and upsell our famous s'mores kits
- Handle sales and operate our POS system (SpotOn)
- Provide friendly, helpful service and address customer concerns, reporting issues to management as needed
Event Runner/Support
- Provides support to all private events and food and beverage outlets
- Replenishes product and equipment as needed to bars
- Assists with opening setup and closing duties, securing the Garden premises when needed
- Relay key information to bartenders, event leads and captains as needed
Guest Check-in
- Mans check-in table for private events by greeting guests and checking names off a list
- Distributes wristbands, drink tickets and other items as indicated on the paperwork
- Assists with directional signage as needed

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- TIPS Certification required within one week of hire; the Garden will cover the cost if not already certified
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to lift chairs, tables, product, and relocate to various areas throughout the Garden
- Must be able to work independently as well as on a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to solve problems
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing and walking 90% of the time
- Regularly lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
