Position Overview

The Director of Restaurants is a service-oriented leader with experience in providing high-level dining experiences within a dynamic hospitality environment. This role possesses strong restaurant management credentials along with the ability to effectively communicate team goals and objectives. This includes verifiable leadership qualities with the demonstrated ability to direct, coordinate, and lead all facets of club restaurant and bar operations with strengths in servant leadership and emotional intelligence.

 

Primary Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the culture and performance of the Club’s restaurants and dining areas.
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for all club restaurant outlets, including member dining rooms, casual dining areas, bar services, and seasonal outlets.
  • Develop and implement standards of service and training programs to ensure excellence in all member and guest interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between front- and back-of-house operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop restaurant managers and service teams; foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to member feedback and proactively resolve service issues to enhance the member experience.
  • Manage staffing, including recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Monitor and audit POS systems for all food service venues to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inspect work areas to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and operational standards are consistently met.
  • Help plan external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for the food and beverage department.
  • Ensure that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to including local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages; assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Abilities:


  • Must demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with members, employees and vendors.
  • Must be able to work in an indoor or outdoor food and beverage environment in a variety of weather conditions. 
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly, to store food and drink supplies. 


Education:


  • A degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as restaurant general manager in the food and beverage industry.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with or managing a service team in a high volume upscale atmosphere.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-level hospitality in multi-outlet restaurant operations.
  • Must hold certification in food safety through ServSafe or similar accredited institution.
  • Must be continuously certified in the intervention training for the responsible sale, service and use of alcohol. (TIPS or related certification).
  • Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation or pursuit thereof is a plus.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
