Quality Engineer III
Location: San Rafael, Alajuela, Costa Rica
Reports to: Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer III is responsible for leading and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure robust quality systems throughout the product lifecycle. This role focuses on implementing effective controls, supporting transfer projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams using the Product Development Process to ensure robust quality systems.
- Implement controls to ensure defect-free production aligned with business and customer expectations.
- Lead transfer projects, including qualification processes, test method validations, inspection methods, validation master plans, FMEAs, and quality plans.
- Analyze complex quality issues and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Apply expertise in GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Conduct and interpret gauge R&R studies.
- Utilize a wide range of metrology tools for hands-on measurements.
- Train and implement new concepts in manufacturing, engineering, and inspection.
- Develop and implement effective sampling plans.
- Support continuous improvement projects and qualified process maintenance.
- Assist with quality system activities such as training, CAPA, documentation, and supplier quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific/business field. Licenciatura preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar roles.
- Experience and/or training in 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 (preferred).
- Internal Auditor training (preferred).
- Intermediate English proficiency.
