AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Orlando, FL.
Y our Role
- Assisted senior engineers with mechanical design, analysis, and technical documentation.
- Developed and updated CAD drawings and 3D models.
- Performed basic engineering calculations and design evaluations.
- Support equipment selections, troubleshooting, and performance assessments.
- Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to complete engineering projects.
- Prepared technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Ensured compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and company procedures.
- Contributed to process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Participated in multi-disciplinary coordination meetings
- Maintained project records and provided engineering support throughout project lifecycles.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, or laboratory experience may be accepted in lieu of professional experience.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
- EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Experience using CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform fundamental engineering calculations and analyses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding of industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.
- Experience with engineering documentation and technical report preparation preferred.
- PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) certification preferred but not typically required.
