What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Atkinson Candy Company?
The shipping and receiving clerk is responsible for conducting the wide variety of warehouse activities including but not limited to, receiving, loading/unloading raw materials and/or finished goods, picking/filling customer orders from warehouse inventory, palletizing product, daily inventory accountability and daily warehouse housekeeping per the warehouse manager or supervisor instructions.
- Participates in daily warehouse shipping/receiving duties including:
Loading/Unloading incoming materials/supplies
Prepares customer orders for shipment (palletizing)
- Must be able to lift up to 30-50 lbs. repetitively throughout a shift
· Moves product through various stages of storage and shipping using a handheld scanner
· Conducts daily housekeeping of work areas according to GMP’s
· Arrive on time for assigned shift
· Ensure all equipment is in operable order and secured at close of business. Report any
issues to supervisor
- Adhere to all safety rules when operating all equipment in and around assigned are of operations
- Report all safety issues to supervisor
- Pick/pull orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure warehouse efficiency by maintaining order of inventory
- Check with supervisor prior to end of shift to ensure all tasks are complete and if any change to work schedule
- Must be able to understand job duties and if in doubt, seek clarification.
- Must possess the maturity to make sound decisions keeping within the guidance and instructions provided.
- Above all, candidate must possess a “team player” attitude.
