Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing, building, and refrigeration systems to ensure continuous production and facility operations. This role requires strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems, along with a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The technician supports preventive and corrective maintenance programs, assists with capital projects, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to maximize equipment uptime and plant reliability. services.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Maintenance & Equipment Troubleshooting

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing/processing equipment including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, grinders, packaging machinery, labeling systems, case packers, and utilities (air compressors, boilers, etc.).
  • Ability to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery to reduce downtime.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electro-mechanical issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms (Fiix or equivalent) to log and track maintenance activities.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, GMP, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to support capital projects, including installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and automation troubleshooting (preferred, not required).
  • Creating and maintaining accurate PM system.

Building Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Perform general and specialized upkeep of corporate facilities.
  • Complete repairs and tasks such as drywall repair, furniture install/tear down, plumbing fixture repair, and lighting replacements.
  • Manage vendor/service provider relationships
  • Respond to building maintenance emergencies and process work orders through Fiix with detailed updates.
  • Manage procurement of materials and create purchase orders for building maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for building systems (HVAC filters)
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts safely.
  • Organize and maintain the maintenance shop and supplies.

Refrigeration Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and piping.
  • Monitor pressure, temperature, and system performance using monitoring web-based system.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Inspecting and testing all components-including motors, fans, and tubing, to identify potential problems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and part replacements.
  • Knowledge of ammonia and freon-based refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, and automated control systems.
  • Strong understanding of LOTO procedures and energy isolation practices.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC is required.
  • 10 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience in a food/beverage environment is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs is preferred.
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance/Calibration of tools/equipment.
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and their operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex diagrams and troubleshoot systems.
  • Proficiency in MIG/TIG/ARC welding equipment and operation of other small power tools.

Compensation:

This position is paying $45.00-$49.00/hr. (depending on skill level and experience)
