We are currently seeking a Financial Accounting Intern at our ATI Specialty Materials facility located in Monroe, North Carolina, reporting to the Director, Finance & Operations. The Financial Operations team is responsible for performing daily accounting operations, month-end close process, financial reporting, while maintaining effective internal controls. As an Accounting Intern, you’ll work collaboratively across other finance functions (Cost Accounting, FP&A, and Payroll).
Primary Responsibilities
As a Finance Intern you will provide support services within the Finance Department. This will include, but not limited to:
- Participate in the development of policies, procedures and practices that are essential to internal controls
- Lead process improvements within various areas of finance operations
- Lead PowerBI project to streamline financial reporting and visibility
- Perform financial analysis on ad-hoc basis
- Collaborate on special projects
- Support other ad-hoc requests
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- A student actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance and/or Accounting (Junior/Senior)
- Business Analytics/ Data Analytics/ Data Visualization skills
- This position requires an onsite presence and cannot be done remotely.
- Exposure to PowerBI (or similar business intelligence tools ie: Oracle, Tableau etc.)
Additional Skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Able to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
- Capable of working in teams and building good relationships with a high degree of personal integrity, trust and work ethics
- PowerBI, or other business intelligence/productivity tools
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail oriented, reliable, efficient, conscientious and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a friendly and personable manner with employees and the general public
- Promptness is extremely important
- Must be a team player
