Key Responsibilities:

  • EHS Program Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs tailored to the specific needs of ATI’s construction and mitigation projects.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
    • Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies to protect workers and the environment.
    • Monitor and report on EHS performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all construction and mitigation activities comply with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
    • Prepare and submit required documentation, including safety plans, incident reports, and audits.
  • Training and Development:
    • Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees and subcontractors involved in construction and mitigation projects.
    • Ensure all personnel are trained in safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to site EHS professionals, fostering a consistent application of safety standards across all projects.
  • Incident Management:
    • Lead investigations into EHS incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    • Manage the documentation and reporting of all incidents, ensuring timely and accurate communication with relevant Management.
    • Coordinate emergency response planning and drills, ensuring readiness for potential incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze EHS data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Implement initiatives to enhance EHS performance, including the adoption of new technologies or best practices.
    • Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes, adjusting EHS programs as needed.
  • Project Support and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Regional Managers, Project Directors, Project Managers, and site supervisors to integrate EHS considerations into project planning and execution.
    • Review project plans and specifications to ensure they align with EHS requirements.
    • Participate in project meetings, providing EHS guidance and support throughout all phases of construction and mitigation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety (Preferred)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management within the construction or mitigation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs across multiple sites.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • OSHA 500 Certification
  • Ability to travel within the region as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds occasionally and wear required PPE.

Work Environment:

  • The role involves working in both office settings and on active construction sites.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential environmental hazards is expected.
