What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Counselor position at Athol-Royalston Regional School District?
Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions (classroom lessons, individualand small group counseling) per special education requirements, 504 plansor demonstrated need based on data with a focus on skills building.
Plan, organize, and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program inclassrooms, small groups, and individually. These lessons will addressacademic and social/emotional domains to ensure all studentsparticipate during all aspects of the school day .
Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in establishing supportfor students in need and in understanding the physical, social, emotional,and psychological factors that strengthen or detract from a studentsacademic achievement.
Support the implementation of restorative and relationship centeredlearning practices including but not limited to student to studentmediations, student to staff mediations, and community building circles.
Provide classroom push in support as requested by staff or administratorsthat supports the implementation of a high expectations learningenvironment.
Support students in selecting courses/pathways that align with their goals.
Ensure that all students have complete schedules.
Conduct risk assessments with students, consult with communityemergency services providers and refer students for evaluation as needed.
Communicate regularly with and work collaboratively with families ofstudents receiving services.
Consult and coordinate with community service providers whenAppropriate.
Participate in IEP and 504 meetings.
Participate as a member of the school PBIS and MTSS teams.
Meet documentation requirements pertaining to IEPs, mandated reporting,
Attend professional development opportunities to maintain a high level ofskill and knowledge of current research and practices.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
