POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE
Assistant Coach—High School
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Valid Arizona State Driver License required.
- Yearly Mini-Bus Driver Training required 30 days after hiring.
- NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).
- NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors Course required.
- One year of successful coaching experience required.
- First-Aid and CPR certification required.
- Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the sport.

High School Head Varsity Coach
JOB GOAL
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for success and achievement in the sports involved.
- Stresses an attitude in participation of self-improvement, personal excellence, responsibility, teamwork and de-emphasizes winning as the prime motivational factor.
- Plans, schedules, and carries out a regular program of practice in season in cooperation with other coaches.
- Establishes and enforces rules for participation, which include academic, disciplinary and sportsmanship standards, and appropriate consequences for breaches of the rules.
- Works closely with athletic personnel in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
- Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, parent permission, and other paperwork as needed.
- Maintains assigned supplies, equipment, and uniforms with an inventory, and recommends purchase of these items as appropriate.
- Oversees safety conditions of the facility or area in which the sport is always conducted where students are present.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Seasonal position depending on the sport and salary is addendum contract basis. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
