Job Overview: The On-Site Health and Wellness Specialist will manage and implement wellness initiatives and provide injury prevention services. This role involves conducting wellness screenings, providing first-aid treatment, performing ergonomic assessments, and promoting overall health and safety in the workplace. The position will also require active participation in safety meetings and the development of site-specific wellness programs and initiatives. This role will report to the Site Lead or Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Wellness Screening and Assessment:
- Perform wellness screenings, including, but not limited to, blood pressure and blood glucose testing.
- Provide orthopedic injury assessments, including musculoskeletal evaluations.
Injury Treatment and Case Management:
- Offer first-aid treatment for musculoskeletal complaints (e.g., ice, heat, wellness stretches, massage, tape techniques, and non-rigid bracing).
- Educate employees on injury prevention, health protocols, and wellness practices.
- Utilize Telehealth services when necessary & applicable, along with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
Ergonomics and Injury Prevention:
- Conduct comprehensive ergonomic job risk analyses (task analysis, posture analysis, risk factor identification).
- Develop and implement ergonomic interventions to reduce injury risks and promote health.
- Work with employees to design creative, empowering solutions for ergonomic challenges.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Create and implement wellness programs and initiatives, such as tabling events, lunch and learns, and employee challenges.
- Lead quarterly wellness challenges focused on specific health initiatives (e.g., fitness, nutrition, mental health).
- Implement programs designed by the Health and Wellness Team.
Communication and Reporting:
- Regularly communicate with safety personnel regarding wellness activities and injury prevention.
- Prepare and present monthly and annual reports on wellness program utilization, cost-savings, injury trends, and return-to-work outcomes.
- Author articles for newsletters or other communication materials to promote wellness initiatives.
Case Management and Advocacy:
o Provide case management services for non-occupational injuries and act as a patient advocate.
o Establish and maintain relationships with external healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for employees.
o Effectively manage on-site resolution for all cases falling under ATS' scope of care.
Mental Health Support:
- Provide mental health first aid and intervene in wellness-related mental health situations as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Attend safety meetings, safety stand-downs, and PTP meetings as requested by the client.
- Ensure that administrative tasks (forms, reports, inventory) are completed in a timely manner.
Public Speaking and Engagement:
- Lead daily stretch and flex sessions for employees.
- Use public speaking and interpersonal skills to engage with employees on wellness topics and initiatives.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain and manage the inventory of wellness supplies for the clinic and first-aid kits.
- Order necessary supplies in a timely manner to ensure all equipment and materials are available when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Evaluation cleared from New Grad Program or a minimum of 1 year of athletic training experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field
Board Certified Athletic training certification
State licensure certification
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Willing to travel to various client locations
Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and worker's compensation a plus
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and
employees
Previous ergonomic and/or occupational health experience is a plus
Position may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination
How to Promote Health & Wellness Specialist 2:
Minimum of 3 years of athletic training experience with ATS or commensurate experience
Independent and satisfactory reporting free of errors
Bachelor's degree in related field
Board Certified Athletic training certification
State licensure certification
Working Conditions
ATS operates in industrial and construction settings. As such, you will be conducting business in all weather conditions and environments our clients require. Employees may need to walk on uneven terrain, in dusty environments, etc. Employees may be required to lift up to 25 pounds. Appropriate clothing and PPE gear will be assigned to you during onboarding; it is your responsibility to ensure your own safety by utilizing this gear and any other implements necessary for your safety.
