Role Description The Sports Performance Coach is responsible for designing and delivering sport-specific and general performance training programs for youth, amateur, and professional athletes. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading small/large group and individual training sessions, teaching proper movement mechanics, and coaching strength, speed, conditioning, and recovery protocols. The coach will monitor athlete progress, track performance metrics, and adjust training plans based on goals, ability, and health status. This is a contract, on-site role based at the Athletic Gaines facility in Fullerton, CA.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in athletic performance coaching, including strength and conditioning, speed and agility, and movement mechanics.
- Strong skills in program design, training plan progression, and athlete assessment using objective performance metrics.
- Ability to coach diverse populations, including youth, adults, and high-level athletes, with clear, positive, and inclusive communication.
- Knowledge of injury prevention, warm-up and recovery strategies, and safe use of performance training equipment.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CSCS, SCCC, NASM, NSCA, ACSM) and experience in sports performance or strength and conditioning settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours
