Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, optimizing processes, supervising staff, and ensuring efficient logistics and supply chain management. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of warehouse systems, and the ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall productivity and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management to ensure operational excellence.
- Oversee inventory management, including inventory control, cycle counting, and accurate recordkeeping using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400.
- Manage shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatching and order fulfillment while maintaining high accuracy standards.
- Coordinate transportation planning and logistics, including freight management, fleet management, and working with 3PL providers and NVOCC operations.
- Develop and implement process improvements utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize warehouse workflows.
- Manage procurement activities such as purchasing materials, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing warehouse distribution.
- Monitor budget adherence through effective cost control strategies related to operations management.
- Utilize supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains across the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to forklift operation, materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to align warehouse activities with overall demand planning and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (including AS400), transportation management systems, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, freight forwarding (including NVOCC), procurement, shipping & receiving, and dispatching.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives such as Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in transportation planning, fleet management, demand planning, production planning, and logistics coordination.
- Supervising experience with a track record of leading teams effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures, purchasing strategies, and materials management.
- Ability to analyze data for supply chain optimization and operational decision-making.
