Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and dedicated After School/Recess Sports Coaches to lead our dynamic sports programs for elementary school students. In this role, you will inspire children to stay active through a variety of sports and physical activities, fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence. Your enthusiasm and coaching expertise will help create memorable experiences that promote healthy lifestyles and lifelong skills.
Duties
- Lead organized sports activities during after-school hours and recess, including Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Water Games, and other fun physical exercises.
- Teach children proper techniques and safety procedures for each sport or activity.
- Manage behavior effectively by implementing positive reinforcement strategies and maintaining a safe environment.
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and cooperation among participants while promoting fun and engagement.
- Assist with setting up equipment, organizing game schedules, and ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Communicate with school staff and parents regarding children's participation and progress when necessary.
- Maintain safety standards by supervising children closely during all activities and responding promptly to any incidents.
Skills
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or teaching setting.
- Strong background in sports coaching or physical education instruction.
- Knowledge of various sports including Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Water Games, and general fitness.
- Lifeguard experience or certification is highly desirable for supervising water-based activities.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a positive environment.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate children and collaborate with school staff.
