Role Overview
Athletech News is seeking a dynamic and strategic Social Media Manager / Strategist to own and grow our presence across all social platforms. This person will be responsible for driving audience growth, increasing engagement, and amplifying our editorial voice across channels including LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
You’ll play a key role in translating our journalism into compelling, high-performing social content while shaping the overall social strategy of a fast-growing media brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Athletech News’ editorial and business goals
- Manage day-to-day posting across platforms
- Translate articles, reports, and newsletters into engaging social-first content
- Create and oversee multimedia content (graphics, short-form video, carousels, etc.)
- Monitor trends in fitness, wellness, and media to inform content strategy
- Analyze performance metrics and optimize content for growth and engagement
- Collaborate with editorial, partnerships, and events teams to support campaigns and launches
- Identify and test new platforms, formats, and growth opportunities
- Maintain brand voice and consistency across all social channels
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience managing social media for a media company, brand, or startup
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices
- Comprehensive understanding of paid social spend utilization
- Experience with social analytics tools
- Basic understanding of what performs on short- and long-form social
- Familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite)
- Strong short-form video editing skills (Capcut, Adobe Premier, or equivalent
- Ability to move quickly, experiment, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- On-camera or short-form video experience (Reels, TikTok, etc.)
- Experience working on brand content, paid ad creative, or sponsored content.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 (depending on experience)
