Athlete Origin are excited to be working on behalf of a Fintech scale-up who are seeking to hire BDRs from elite sporting backgrounds to join their growing team in Charlotte, NC.

They provide industry-leading market insights, data, and journalism to subscribers through a broad array of specialized brands, all powered by a digital publishing, analytics, and database platform.

The Role
The Business Development Representative sits within the global acquisition team, responsible for top-of-funnel pipeline creation and early-stage client engagement. This individual owns outbound prospecting activities and is the first point of contact for new business opportunities. The BDR works closely with regional sales managers to drive engagement from inbound leads and outbound campaigns, booking qualified discovery calls with target accounts across regions.
What you’ll do:
· Execute outbound cadences to target accounts, including cold calling, personalized emails, and LinkedIn outreach.
· Rapidly respond to inbound interest including paywall hits, gated content registrations, marketing email clicks, and first-time logins.
· Book qualified discovery calls for Commercial Leaders, ensuring a steady flow of meetings from both inbound and outbound sources.
· Partner with sales and marketing to prioritize accounts, develop messaging strategies, and test campaign performance.
· Build and refine target lists based on firmographic and behavioral signals across PE, VC, real assets, and other financial institutions.
· Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and account teams to stay informed about new initiatives, offerings, and key industry trends.
What you’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to network with peers, prospects and customers.
- An interest in Private Equity and enthusiasm to learn more about the industry.
- Previous exposure to sales would be a benefit, not essential.
- Experience working in environments with targets and KPIs.
- High-performance sporting background.
- Right to work in the USA.
