About the Role: Certified Veterinary Technician
As a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in Athens, WI, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare and well-being of animals. Your primary responsibility will be to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treatment of a variety of animal health issues, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care. You will be involved in performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures. Additionally, you will educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive health measures, fostering a strong bond between them and their pets. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) in the state of Wisconsin.
- Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting.
- Specialized training in anesthesia or emergency care.
Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and aiding with their diagnosis of animal health issues.
- Communication and working together as a team.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animals under anesthesia during surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job ( lifting up to 50 lbs.).
