We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PET Scan & Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join

our growing team.


Position Overview

The PET Scan & Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing Positron

Emission Tomography (PET) scans and a full range of nuclear medicine procedures in

accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This role plays a critical part in

providing accurate diagnostic imaging to support physicians in evaluating cardiac,

oncologic, and neurologic conditions.


Key Responsibilities

• Perform PET/CT and nuclear medicine scans including myocardial perfusion

imaging, oncology scans, and other diagnostic procedures.

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with NRC and state

regulations, ensuring accurate dosing and safe handling.

• Operate and maintain PET/CT scanners, gamma cameras, and related imaging

equipment; perform routine quality control checks.

• Evaluate image quality and make technical adjustments to ensure optimal diagnostic

results.

• Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and ensure patient comfort and

safety throughout the imaging process.

• Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical receipt, administration, and waste

disposal per regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians, cardiologists, and other clinical staff to

deliver integrated patient care.

• Follow all radiation safety protocols and ensure compliance with ALARA principles.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with infection

control policies.

• Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and continuing education

activities.


Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.

• Current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

(NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N).

• Georgia state licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology (or eligibility to obtain).

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging.

• Working knowledge of radiopharmaceutical preparation, radiation safety regulations,

and NRC guidelines.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced

clinical setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered focus.


Preferred:

• Experience with cardiac nuclear imaging and myocardial perfusion studies.

• Familiarity with integrated PET/CT systems and advanced reconstruction software.

• BLS/CPR certification.

• Experience in a cardiology or specialty clinic setting.

• Experience with accreditation processes, including preparation and compliance for

ACR (American College of Radiology) or IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation

Commission) nuclear medicine/PET accreditation.

• Familiarity with accreditation documentation, quality standards, and regulatory

compliance requirements.
