Athens Health and Rehab is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Nursing Scheduler / HR Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility in Athens, PA. This multi-functional role supports nursing staff scheduling, employee attendance, recruitment, onboarding, and other Human Resources functions to help ensure smooth daily operations throughout the facility.
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for creating and maintaining nursing schedules while providing hands-on support to the Human Resources function. The role works closely with nursing leadership, facility administration, and employees to ensure appropriate staffing, accurate employee records, consistent attendance practices, and efficient HR processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesNursing Scheduling
Create, post, and maintain monthly nursing staff schedules
Track schedule changes and approve trades as delegated by the Director of Nursing (DON)
Maintain accurate records of call-offs, tardies, absences, and early departures
Coordinate with nursing leadership to address staffing needs and vacancies
Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports in a timely manner
Provide staffing, vacancy, and agency usage reports to facility leadership
Human Resources Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes
Verify employment information and background documentation for applicants
Coordinate new-hire paperwork, onboarding, and required employment documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records
Assist with employee attendance tracking and enforcement of attendance policies
Support employee orientation and required training documentation
Assist employees with HR-related questions and direct concerns to appropriate leadership
Coordinate with facility leadership regarding employee status changes, scheduling, and staffing needs
Assist with employee files, audits, and other HR documentation
Support compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal employment regulations
Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned
Previous nursing scheduler and/or Human Resources experience preferred
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office or similar software
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
