PURPOSE

Assists in ensuring the overall sanitation and cleanliness of the company’s equipment and facilities in order to maintain the highest standards of company quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Cleans walls, floors, equipment and other areas of the facility as directed.

2. Operates all sanitizing equipment as directed and per manufacturer’s guidelines.

3. Accurately completes all Master Sanitation Schedules / Cleaning Log books.

4. Reports any maintenance problems or any issues with cleanliness or inability to clean equipment and facility to Sanitation Supervisor.

5. Completes sanitation documentation paperwork accurately.

6. Follows all established OSHA and company safety policies and procedures including Good Manufacturing Practices.

7. Always wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed or required and works safely.

8. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.

9. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

10. Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to his/her supervisor or in their absence the QA Manager.

11. Complies with all Safety, GMP’s and Food Safety Policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

Education, Training and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

1. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as chemical labels, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

2. Moderate mechanical aptitude.

3. Ability to complete and pass Sanitation training courses.

4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

5. Strong attention to detail.

6. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior sanitation experience.

1. Nature of work requires an ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment.

2. Requires walking, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. regularly and independently.

3. Majority of time spent standing to perform job duties.

4. Nature of work requires depth perception, normal vision, normal finger dexterity and ability to hear and communicate and exchange information at normal speaking levels.

5. May require occasional evening and weekend hours as business needs demand.

6. Requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
