We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanitation Lead to assist supervisor on the cleanliness and sanitation standards within our facility. This role is critical in ensuring that all areas are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and safety, particularly in a hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in custodial management, with a focus on commercial cleaning practices.
Duties
- Maintains and updates MSS, SSOP’s and all other sanitation records.
- Ensures conformance with proper manufacturing practices, OSHA standards, health code regulations and company safety policies.
- Assist with the scheduling and cleaning of the flour silos.
- Participates in all third party audits and coordinates corrective actions for all food safety audits in a timely manner.
- Issues supplies and equipment to employees.
- Makes requisitions for cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Submits requests for repair of equipment.
- Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- May perform cleaning duties during staffing shortages.
- Assists with development and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Completes daily pre-operational inspections in coordination of QA approval.
- Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to QA Manager.
- Conforms and ensures compliance with all Safety, GMP’s, and Food Safety Policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in custodial or housekeeping
- Requires walking, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. regularly and independently.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Previous experience in supervising sanitation operations is preferred.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Knowledge of USDA requirements, pre-operation inspections
- AIB (American Insatiate of Baking)
- Pesticide licensing
- HACCP knowledge
