About the Role
The Athens County Food Pantry is seeking a part-time Operations Manager to oversee daily pantry operations and help ensure our neighbors are served with dignity, compassion, and efficiency. This is a hands-on role ideal for an organized, mission-driven individual who enjoys working with people and systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage daily pantry operations including food intake, storage, inventory, and distribution
· Coordinate food ordering and inventory with partner agencies and suppliers
· Support and be the key contact person for our volunteer teams
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food-handling standards
· Track basic operational metrics (food volume, client reach, volunteer hours)
· Oversee pantry equipment, facilities, and basic technology systems
· Serve as a point of contact for community partners and stakeholders
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, logistics, social services, or 3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or nonprofit management (food service or hunger-relief experience preferred)
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and basic database or inventory systems
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
· Commitment to community service and food equity
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time: approximately 25 hours per week
- Some evenings and weekends required
- Hourly pay: $23.00–$25.00
