What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title Deputy position at Athens County Clerk of Courts?
Under general supervision, prepares, issues and records titles for approved motor vehicles. Performs title searches, receives and records cash, prepares cash deposit (if applicable), prepares reports for BMV and the State, perform approved LADR functions.
Prepares, Issues, Assigns and records vehicle title transfers. Prepares BMV reports and forwards same to the State, notarizes documents, assigns and issues duplicate titles.
Performs title searches, certifies ownerships as allowable
Receives, records, issue receipts, prepares deposit for cash receipts, reconciles computerized cash ledger daily (if applicable), monthly as needed
Assist public with researching information from court records
Knowledge of: Bookkeeping, general office practice and procedure, office equipment operation, courtroom procedures*, record preparation and management *
Skill In: Typing, computer operation, general public etiquette
Ability to : Carry out detailed but basic written and oral instruction, read, copy and record figures accurately, add, subtract , multiply, and divide whole numbers , copy records precisely without error, complete routine forms, prepare accurate documentation , maintain records according to established procedures*, answer routine and detailed phone inquiries* Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
