POSITION: Elementary Lunch & Recess Paraprofessional
LOCATION: East Leroy Elementary School
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PAY: Per Athens Educational Support Personnel Association Master Agreement
STARTING DATE: October 2026
HOURS: Approximately 11:15 A.M. - 1:20 P.M. on full days of school
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong desire to work with elementary school aged students
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide active supervision of elementary-aged students at lunch and recess times.
- Support positive student behavior using appropriate and approved intervention techniques.
- Direct movements of student groups to and from the cafeteria, playground and classrooms in a safe and orderly manner.
- Report accidents to the elementary office in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate in a positive manner with children and other staff members.
- Willingness and ability to work as a cooperative team member.
- Willingness to respect school confidentiality policies regarding students and their families.
- Adhere to all district and board of education policies and procedures.
