Are you a friendly, dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Athenian Grill at Chevy Chase in Lexington, KY, is looking for a dedicated Cashier to join our team! If you enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, and take pride in providing excellent customer service, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Welcoming every guest promptly and professionally.
- Taking accurate dine-in and takeout orders.
- Processing cash and card payments with precision.
- Explaining menu items and answering questions about ingredients.
- Suggesting drinks, sides, desserts, and other additions when appropriate.
- Checking every order for accuracy before handing it to the customer.
- Keeping the front counter, dining room, and beverage area clean and stocked.
- Assisting the team with other front-of-house duties as needed.
- Following food-safety, cleanliness, and customer-service standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Consistent evening and weekend availability, including Fridays and Saturdays.
- Reliable transportation and a strong record of punctuality and attendance.
- Friendly, confident communication with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to accurately take orders, process payments, and handle cash.
- Comfort in suggesting menu items and helping customers make selections.
- Willingness to clean and maintain the dining area, beverage station, counters, and cashier station.
- Ability to remain standing and active throughout the shift.
- Ability to work calmly and accurately during busy periods.
While prior restaurant or customer-service experience is preferred, we are happy to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
