The Opportunity


Atheneum is seeking a visionary commercial leader to serve as Head of Life Sciences, Commercial – Americas & EMEA. This pivotal role is central to our mission of achieving top-tier market leadership through innovation. You will be the architect of our growth strategy in our most critical vertical, shaping and leading a talented client engagement and business development organization, that is looking to step up to the next level.


Strategic Mandate

  • Architect Commercial Strategy: Design and execute a multi-year commercial strategy to capture market share, drive exponential revenue growth, and establish Atheneum as the definitive leader in Life Sciences insights.
  • Drive P&L Performance: Align the organization around key performance indicators, ensuring sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Build a High-Performance Culture: Lead, mentor, and scale the Client Engagement (CE) and Business Development (BD) teams. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and relentless client focus.
  • Forge Key Stakeholder Relationships: Penetrate and build strategic partnerships with decision-makers across pharmaceutical, biotech, and MedTech firms, positioning Atheneum as a consultative partner.
  • Champion Innovation: Partner with executive leadership to pioneer new products and go-to-market strategies that disrupt the industry and deliver unparalleled value to our Life Sciences clients.
  • Serve as a Strategic Partner to Leadership: Act as a key advisor to the C-suite (CRO, CFO), providing data-driven insights on market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and strategic opportunities.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven Commercial Architect: 10 years of escalating commercial leadership experience, with a clear track record of building and scaling high-growth businesses within the Life Sciences services sector (e.g., Consulting, Market Research, Expert Networks).
  • Deep Sector Fluency: Intimate knowledge of the Life Sciences value chain, key industry players, and the primary research needs of its leaders.
  • Inspirational Leader: Demonstrated success in building, coaching, and retaining elite, high-performing sales and account management teams.
  • Data-Driven Strategist: A strategic mindset grounded in rigorous data analysis, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Executive Presence: Superb communication and influencing skills, capable of commanding a room and building credibility with C-level executives.
  • An Innovator's Mindset: A hunger to challenge the status quo and a passion for building new solutions.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $150,000–$200,000

Performance Bonus: Up to $150,000
