Purpose: The AVP, HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to senior leaders across multiple business units at Athene. This role combines strategic insight, organizational expertise, and influence to drive business outcomes through people. The role advises executive leaders, shaping organizational design, and aligning workforce strategies with business priorities. Accountabilities: Strategic Consulting: Advise leaders to align people strategies with business goals and culture. Use workforce data and insights to guide decisions on structure, talent, and capability needs. Organizational Design & Effectiveness: Lead organization design and change initiatives that enable long-term success. Partner with leaders to improve engagement, leadership effectiveness, and team performance. Talent & Performance Strategy: Drive talent and succession planning, performance calibration, and leadership development in coordination with HR Centers of Expertise. Ensure alignment between talent actions and business priorities. HR Coordination & Integration: Champion consistency in HR processes and collaboration across HRBPs and COEs. Leverage HR systems and analytics to improve insights, decisions, and execution. Navigating and influencing across complex and matrixed organizational structures. Culture & Engagement: Translate engagement insights into targeted action plans that strengthen accountability, collaboration, and trust across teams. Qualifications and Experience: 8 years of progressive HR business partnership or HR leadership experience. Experience advising senior executives on organizational design, transformation, and workforce planning. Proven success influencing strategy and navigating complex, matrixed environments. Strategic Acumen: Ability to connect business priorities with long-term people strategies. Influence: Strong executive presence and communication; capable of challenging constructively. Analytical Thinking: Skilled in using data to drive insights and inform decisions. Change Leadership: Demonstrated ability to guide cultural or structural transformation. Collaboration: Builds strong cross-functional relationships and drives alignment across HR. Integrity & Judgment: Deep understanding of HR compliance, ethics, and confidentiality. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP) preferred. Drive. Discipline. Confidence. Focus.
