What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Manager position at AthenaReads LLC?
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative, self-starting Marketing Manager to help share AthenaReads with the world. This is up to 20 hours / week (at least to start) remote role where you’ll get to experiment, strive for beautiful content, and help build a community around a new way of reading. Meeting one night a week in Provo would be preferred.
You’ll work directly with the founder to tell AthenaReads’ story through visuals, social media, and collaborations with book-loving spaces all over the internet.
- 🎨 Create fun, beautiful, and (hopefully) viral content using AI tools like Midjourney, Sora, Flow, and Veo.
- 📱 Manage and grow AthenaReads’ social accounts (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
- 💬 Share AthenaReads in online communities where readers gather — Reddit, Discords, Substacks, BookTok, r/books, Goodreads groups and beyond
- 🚀 Experiment with campaigns and content formats to grow reach and engagement
- 🎙️ Find and arrange opportunities for the founder to appear on podcasts, interviews and at events
- 📈 Track what’s working (and what’s not) to refine the strategy over time
- Love books, stories, AI tools — and have ideas for how to make them play well together
- Enjoy creating and sharing content that gets people curious and smiling
- Are comfortable running and growing social channels independently
- Know your way around Reddit and reading communities without being spammy
- Can write in a tone that feels authentic, clever, and warm
- Thrive in an early-stage, creative, build-it-as-we-go kind of environment
- 🕓 Hours: 10–20 per week (flexible schedule)
- 🌍 Location: Remote
- 💸 Compensation: Negotiable
- 🚀 Start date: As soon as possible

AthenaReads is where literature meets AI. Imagine being able to ask questions while you read and get spoiler-free answers, or ask, “What did I read last time?” and get a smart, story-aware recap. AthenaReads can even define words in the context of the book and its time period.
We’re building something special for readers who love stories, language, and the magic of discovery — powered by modern AI.
