Team priorities include building reliable data assets, improving product performance visibility, and supporting data-informed road-mapping.

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers and scrum teams to define success measures and guide consistent use of outcome-driven metrics
- Extract, transform, and load data from complex systems to produce reports and analyses for product stakeholders
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports to communicate product and feature performance to cross-functional teams
- Monitor release metrics and KPIs; identify regressions, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Standardize data assets and metrics, surface gaps, and collaborate on corrective actions to improve data quality and consistency
- Conduct analyses to scope potential impact of product decisions on clients and business outcomes
- Communicate analytic findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences to support prioritization decisions
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with product, engineering, and strategy partners to support continuous improvement
- Use AI tools to enhance analysis workflows: evaluate and apply AI-assisted data exploration, summarization, and automation methods to increase productivity, validate results, and recommend safe, effective uses of AI in analytics processes
- Support ad hoc research and experimentation to inform product hypotheses and A/B testing plans
- Contribute to documentation of metrics definitions, dashboards, and analytic methods for team reuse
- Mentor junior analysts and share best practices for analytics workflows and data governance
- Help identify opportunities to automate repetitive data processes and reporting tasks
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in quantitative disciplines (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Information Systems) preferred
- 3 years of professional experience, with 2 years in product-focused data analytics or data science preferred
- Proficiency writing SQL to extract and aggregate data from relational data stores (required)
- Experience with data transformation/ETL tools and building data pipelines
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar for dashboard and report creation
- Familiarity with a programming language used for analytics (Python, R, or equivalent)
- Strong analytical problem solving, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present actionable recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience collaborating across product, engineering, and business teams to influence decisions and measure outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Degree (Bachelor’s or Masters) in quantitative disciplines like Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, or Information Systems preferred
- 3 years overall professional experience, preferably including 2-3 years of data analytics or data science
- Strong understanding of database technologies and ability to write code to gather data. SQL experience mandatory
- Demonstrated experience with an array of analytical tools and methods including data visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), and programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
