Activities Assistant

We are hiring part-time Activities Assistants to join our creative and passionate recreation team at Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

Weekly pay at $17 an hour. Two shifts available. Sun-Wed 9:30a-5p. Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, and Sat with varied shifts starting at 9:30a.

As an Activities Assistant, you assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
  
  
  

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing policies and procedures.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
• Must participate in continuing education and inservice training.
