Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Life Settlement Specialist to join our team in Queens, New York. This role will focus on the acquisition of life insurance policies and the evaluation, structuring, and execution of policy conversions within the life settlements market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of life insurance products, investor dynamics, and transaction execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and originate life insurance policy acquisition opportunities through brokers, agents, and direct channels
- Evaluate policies for life settlement eligibility, including face value, insured profile, and policy structure
- Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including underwriting coordination, pricing analysis, and closing processes
- Structure and execute policy conversions (e.g., term conversions, policy optimization strategies) to maximize asset value
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, financial advisors, and policyholders
- Collaborate with internal investment, legal, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, reporting, and documentation of all acquisition activities
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and market trends within the life settlements industry
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in life settlements, life insurance, or related financial services
- Strong knowledge of life insurance products, including universal life, term life, and conversion features
- Demonstrated experience in policy acquisitions, underwriting coordination, or structured transactions
- Established network within the life insurance or brokerage community is a plus
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with life expectancy underwriting and pricing models
- Experience working with institutional investors or alternative asset managers
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting life settlements
