ATG Flooring LLC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and experienced Commercial Flooring Installer to join our team. This position involves installing flooring in commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, offices, and other occupied work environments.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, professional work and understands the importance of proper floor preparation, jobsite safety, and completing projects on schedule. Applicants must be comfortable working as part of a crew and following project specifications and manufacturer installation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial flooring products, including LVT, VCT, sheet vinyl, carpet tile, broadloom carpet, rubber flooring, wall base, transitions, and other resilient flooring products.
- Perform heat-welded sheet-vinyl installations when required.
- Remove existing flooring, adhesives, wall base, and other materials.
- Prepare concrete and wood subfloors by scraping, grinding, patching, leveling, sanding, and cleaning.
- Identify and report substrate, moisture, or jobsite conditions that may affect the installation.
- Read flooring plans, layouts, product specifications, and project instructions.
- Measure, cut, fit, and install flooring materials accurately.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, floor grinders, scrapers, and commercial flooring equipment.
- Move flooring materials, tools, and equipment safely throughout the jobsite.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow OSHA requirements, jobsite safety rules, and facility-specific procedures.
- Work closely with crew leaders, project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
- Complete assigned work according to the project schedule and ATG Flooring’s quality standards.
- Protect finished flooring and surrounding areas from damage.
- Complete basic documentation regarding project progress and material usage when requested.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial flooring installation experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience installing LVT, VCT, sheet vinyl, carpet tile, wall base, and transitions.
- Sheet-vinyl heat-welding experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial floor preparation, including grinding, patching, skim coating, and self-leveling.
- Ability to read measurements, layouts, plans, and written project instructions.
- Ability to use flooring tools and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift and move heavy flooring materials and equipment.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a crew.
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to assigned jobsites.
- Willingness to comply with background checks and customer or facility access requirements.
Employment Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to applicable project or jobsite requirements.
- Applicants must be able to provide acceptable employment-verification documentation.
- Applicants must be able to meet all customer, facility, safety, and background-screening requirements.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
