POSITION: Bartender
LOCATION: Detroit, Michigan
HOURS: 4–6-hour shifts. Availability for some weekends and holidays is necessary.
Compensation: $10.00 per hour plus tips
ABOUT THE POSITION
· Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager.
· The Bartender is responsible for serving the entire food and beverage menu to theatre guests.
· Bartenders are expected to accommodate all guests’ orders with a focus on efficiency, quality, and graciousness.
The VENUE
· Remodeled as a live theatre in 1961, the Fisher is now adorned with marble, Indian rosewood and walnut paneling, and crystal and bronze decorative work. The original 3,500 seats were scaled down to 2,089 to ensure an intimate atmosphere and optimal sightlines. Over the last 60 years, the Fisher Theatre has been a favorite venue of many of Broadway’s brightest stars, like Mary Martin, Carol Channing, Joel Grey, Bernadette Peters and Lynn Redgrave, and hosted the world premieres of Hello Dolly, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweet Charity and Golden Boy
KEY PEOPLE and TASKS:
· Consistently highlight the values of ATG, and the Venue General Manager through action and guest-focused behavior.
· All Bartenders will be able and willing to work from all ‘bar’ points of sale throughout the theatres, including kiosks, main bars, coffee bar, etc.
· Serve entire menu and use all available tools and machinery for service.
· Assure a professional environment by exemplifying professional, ethical, and responsible behavior at all times.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
· Welcoming demeanor, guest-focused attitude
· Working knowledge of cocktails, beer varieties, wine varieties, soda varieties, food brands, basic allergy knowledge
· Diligent in all areas of work, from prep to service to clean-up.
· All ePos experience is a plus: *Square*, MICROS, Zonal, NCR, Aloha
· Able to work without sitting for extended periods of time.
· Able to lift boxes / 50 pounds at reasonable time increments.
COMPETENCIES
· Time Management, Customer Focus, Stress Management/Composure, Problem-Solving, Communication and Technical Capacity (I.e. ePos, beverage expertise)
