To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

The major duties of the Supervisory Management Analyst (Branch Chief) position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serves as Branch Chief and manages the Denial Enforcement and NICS Intelligence Branch operations and personnel.
- Conducts complex in depth studies that concern branch programs and associated activities with other Federal, State, local, and international law enforcement agencies and other professional organizations.
- Directs and coordinates working groups on significant programmatic and operational issues and develops and maintains an effective tracking system to monitor the progress and accomplishments of all activities.
- Ensures the proper storage and safe handling all material related to the report of the sale of firearms.

- May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

- Providing analytic support related to sale of firearms to Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies; AND
- Reviewing and analyzing firearms denials and referring denials to field divisions for investigation; AND
- Communicating orally and writing to prepare and defend policy papers, reports, and make presentations to management; AND
- Interpreting, analyzing firearms laws governing law enforcement regulations providing recommendations.
