What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio/Video Technician position at Atelier 956 LLC?
Atelier 956 LLC is seeking skilled, part-time, on-call Event Production Technicians to support audiovisual setup, camera operation, PTZ control, virtual event production, and post-production tasks for live events throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is event-based, varies monthly, and is not guaranteed weekly. This role is designed for individuals with hands-on technical experience who can operate in fast-paced, high-pressure live environments with irregular hours, early call times, and late-night teardown.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Setup, operation, and teardown of professional audiovisual systems
- Operation of PTZ cameras, including framing, exposure, presets, and smooth transitions
- Operation and support of video switchers (ATEM, Roland V-series, etc.) including program/preview workflow, aux outputs, and multiview monitoring
- Operation of cinema and broadcast cameras (Sony/Canon) with proper exposure, focus, and white balance techniques
- Support for virtual and hybrid events, including Zoom, Teams, or webinar-based platforms; monitoring remote participants; managing audio/video routing; and coordinating virtual callers
- Setup of projectors, screens, lighting fixtures, microphones, PA systems, and signal distribution
- Support for live streaming workflows, encoders, and routing (RTMP/SRT)
- Basic post-production work in Final Cut Pro, including multicam prep, trimming, media management, and exporting
- Cable management, power distribution awareness, and safe handling of equipment
- Troubleshooting signal flow, connectivity, or system failures under time pressure
- Maintaining professional etiquette while working around clients, speakers, and government personnel
Pay: $300.00 per day
