The Role
As a Vice President, Venture Debt Originator, you will be responsible for executing ATEL's venture debt strategy by sourcing, structuring, and closing high-quality opportunities. You'll focus on building strong relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, and other key stakeholders while helping innovative companies access non-dilutive capital to fuel their growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Origination & Business Development: Source venture debt opportunities by leveraging your network of founders, investors, and advisors. Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality prospects.
- Deal Structuring and Execution: Structure, negotiate, and close venture debt solutions aligned with client growth strategies and ATEL's underwriting approach.
- Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted partner to founders executives, and venture capital firms. Cultivate long-term relationships within the venture ecosystem.
- Strategy Execution: Carry out ATEL's venture debt strategy by consistently sourcing and executing transactions that align with portfolio goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 3 years of origination experience in venture debt or closely related financial services.
- Proven success structuring venture debt and working capital financings.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to clearly explain complex financial structures.
- Strong sales and relationship-building capabilities with a client-first mindset.
- Skilled in analyzing financial statements, business plans, and projections.
- Deep understanding of the venture capital ecosystem and non-dilutive financing strategies.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce CRM experience a plus
