Job Overview
ATek Automation is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, service, and support our plasma and laser cutting machines at our home office and at customer sites across the United States and Canada. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their technical work, enjoys solving problems on the fly, and builds lasting relationships with the customers they serve.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and train customers on plasma and laser cutting machines
- Wire electrical panels to specification
- Provide online and remote support to help existing customers troubleshoot machine issues
- Manage current accounts and help attract prospective customers
- Travel within the United States and Canada to make on-site service calls
What We're Looking For
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude; familiarity with Windows 10 operating systems a plus
- Ability to travel within a defined territory, a valid driver's license with a clean record is a must
- Integrity, good presentation, and dependability
- A genuine passion for serving customers and the ability to cultivate long-standing relationships
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in a technical field preferred (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or related)
- Industrial Repair Experience: 2 years preferred
- Mechanical Experience: 4 years preferred
- Willingness to travel: Up to 50%
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one (for Canada travel)
