Overview
We are seeking a strategic results-driven Director of Operations to lead all aspects of our manufacturing operations and drive organizational growth. This leadership role is responsible for aligning operational performance with ATCAM’s long-term goals, optimizing end-to-end production, and championing a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and coating processes, proven experience leading high-performing teams, and a strategic mindset capable of driving sustainable growth in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives, including capacity planning, process optimization, and cost management.
- Ensure effective and efficient scheduling, workflow execution, and on-time delivery across machining, coating, and repair operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across production, maintenance, and support functions.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with support teams to align production capabilities with customer expectations and project timelines.
- Promote an environment of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Assess, select, and implement tools, technologies, and systems to enhance operational visibility and control.
- Develop, monitor, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure all operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead proactive safety initiatives and foster a culture of workplace safety and accountability.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, manual machining or thermal spray coating processes
- Experience with ERP systems and lean manufacturing principles
- Demonstrated success leading teams, managing budgets, and driving strategic operational initiatives
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
