Inpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist – Travel Position

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to join a healthcare facility in Montrose, CO, on a travel contract. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients recovering from illness, surgery, or injury, and provide evidence-based therapy to restore mobility, strength, and independence. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and experienced in inpatient rehab settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations to assess patients’ physical abilities, functional needs, and rehabilitation goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Deliver therapy interventions including gait training, strengthening, balance activities, and functional mobility exercises.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, safe mobility, and home exercise programs.
- Accurately document evaluations, progress notes, and therapy sessions in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Support patients in achieving independence and improving quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
Qualifications
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Colorado (or compact license).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent PT experience, preferably in inpatient rehabilitation.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with experience in rehab care.
