Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED) Travel Position

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Rhinelander, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies. The ideal candidate is experienced in a fast-paced ED environment, highly adaptable, and able to respond effectively to critical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
- Perform rapid assessments, triage patients, and prioritize care based on acuity.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver timely interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, record assessments, and document care in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ED best practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent emergency nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); TNCC preferred.
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
