Pay: $19.00–$21.00 per hour

ATC Healthcare is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support students throughout the Reading School District.

PCAs work directly with students who may require additional behavioral, personal care, mobility, or educational support during the school day. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want a consistent weekday schedule with no nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

As a School-Based PCA, you may:

• Provide one-on-one or classroom-based support to assigned students
• Assist students with personal care and activities of daily living as needed
• Provide behavioral and emotional support throughout the school day
• Help students remain engaged and participate in classroom activities
• Follow established behavioral support plans and student-specific instructions
• Reinforce positive behaviors and appropriate social interactions
• Assist with transitions between classrooms, activities, lunch, transportation, and other areas of the school
• Support students with mobility or physical needs when required
• Observe and communicate changes in student behavior or needs to appropriate school personnel
• Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, behavioral professionals, nurses, and other members of the educational team
• Maintain student confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Follow all Reading School District and ATC Healthcare policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, behavioral health, special education, caregiving, or a related setting preferred
• Previous experience as a PCA, Behavior Technician, RBT, Paraprofessional, Classroom Aide, Direct Support Professional (DSP), CNA, or Caregiver is a plus
• Ability to remain patient, professional, and supportive when working with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to meet all school district and ATC Healthcare background, health, and credentialing requirements
