Key Responsibilities
Market Development
- Identify, assess, and prioritize new business opportunities within key life sciences segments such as biotechnology, diagnostics, drug delivery, and medical devices
- Lead new market entry and expansion efforts across transportation and consumer products sectors
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through targeted outreach, networking, conferences, referrals, and inbound opportunities
- Establish and grow relationships with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, procurement teams, and leadership stakeholders within target accounts
- Develop customized proposals and presentations that address customer-specific technical, regulatory, and operational requirements
- Lead proposal reviews, negotiate commercial terms, and close opportunities that align with long-term customer success and company goals
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and solution development
- Work closely with marketing, applications engineering, and operations teams to deliver timely, high-quality customer solutions
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and key account insights
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline
- 3 years of business development or sales experience within the life sciences industry
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical device development processes
- Familiarity with life sciences manufacturing practices, including automation, GAMP, and validation
- Proven ability to close complex, high-value opportunities and build long-term strategic partnerships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with value-based selling and linking technical solutions to ROI and risk mitigation
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Experience working with CMOs, CDMOs, or life science OEM manufacturers
- Background in automation or a related technical field
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
- Previous experience as an Automation Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer is a plus
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend as needed
- Primarily office-based work environment
- Near visual acuity and normal hearing, with or without accommodation
