What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager position at ATAS International, Inc.?
As the EHS Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities are in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and our employees are working in a safe and healthy environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement health and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular workplace health and safety assessments and make recommendations for improvement.
- Manage the company's hazardous waste program, including collection, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Maintain compliance records and help prepare reports for DEP/EPA permitting requirements.
- Monitor wastewater treatment sampling
- Monitor and ensure compliance in all facets related to air and water permit.
- Act as liaison between Brightsmith and EPA/DEP
- Work closely with environmental consultants (in person 1 every other week) to prepare compliance documents
- Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and education on health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all health and safety activities, including training records and accident reports.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in health and safety regulations and ensure the company is in compliance.
- Lead the company's emergency response team and develop emergency response plans.
- Lead each safety committee for all locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science,Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification
- Experience in a safety role within manufacturing, construction, or similar industries
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in safety management software
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health, safety, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
